The nearest skate park is 7 miles. The new skatepark the one built by dreamland is 30 miles. </p> <p>That's the one I really like!</p> <p> I tryed 50 sit-ups in one minute, I got to 35 in 1/2 min and Hit my wall I push the next 15 out slow and made it, but it wasn't easy at all. hahaha "O" to be 16-25 that is prime sk8 years I have to workout every day doing something active, not drink soda or Beer anymore just water. I check my weight every Weds, and I've been losing a pound a week. I'm 6'1 and I when I started this workout stuff I weighed 250 I'm now 234! I'm finding out with less weight ollies are easier alittle higher again. When your 36 and been skating since 1984 your knees are shot and you wear a helmet not to get another concusion. Skating just not the same as 16-25, it's a whole another adventure. My wife is in basic training right now..so we've been exchanging snail mail throughout the 6.5 weeks. She has been struggling with hitting 50 sit ups in a minute. She could only get around 25 as of a couple days before her final exam. And if she fails they will recycle her, which means she would get set back 2 weeks and repeat till she hits all her goals. She and I were very worried about it. Obviously been praying hardcore about it, just that God would be strong in her weakness and that He would show up and show to her why He is called The Rock. I got a call from her and on her exam day she hit 51 sit ups in that minute! God answers prayers! Some might see it as coincidence, but i know she was trying her hardest to hit that mark and failing every day up until that time. Ive told just about everyone i come into contact with daily about it. Not only because I'm excited that i get to see her on schedule but as a witness to those who are listening. I hope this encourages you. Before I left for the conference I asked for the Friday off work (My work: Kids Coordinator &#38; Teen coordinator for Boys &#38; Girls Club) and payroll was due on Monday, sooooOo Monday came and I got my payroll slip in. ( no Time clock )<br /> Went to pastors conference and had a great time, God worked in all aspects very cool, not worried about money or anything. I got back and the next day I was paid for Teen hours but not Kid hours &#38; Kid hours are where the Meat of my paycheck comes from. So I'm looking at a meager little paycheck and have my morgage due on Tuesday. Yes I live paycheck to Paycheck, it sucks. SooOOOOO I'm gettin livid, pissed off and just a tad bit ready to strangle my boss and everyone who does payroll.I could see myself getting this way and I took it to God. I prayed and God placed Palms 42:1,2 in my mind " AS the Deer Pants for the water, so my soul pants for you "O" GOD" (2) My soul thirst for God, for the Living God, when shall I come &#38; appear before God.I was kinda of singing the old school Hymn of that verse. I even kinda stopped myself and said what are you doing Mark? But all along my heart of anger was breaking and my heart of forgiveness and knowing God will take care of me and my family, and I needed to trust in him. We all need to trust in Him huh?<br /> It all worked out Payroll saw that they found my lost payslip and reissued me a check.This is where the story gets amazing, The next day I have a Verse of the day that pops up on my computer and the verse was Psalm. 42:1 I admit I didn't handel the sistuation very well, but God gave me the strength to bring me back to him and not let my anger get the best of me which is sinful. The next day I was running out to my shop, where my computer is in my office, it's a 50 yard dash, it's not paved yet so I can't skate it. well.... I'm running super fast and looking down at the gravel and weeds, I look up and I'm 10 feet from running into a young Buck (that's just getting in his horns, he's got 2 horns no rack yet and his horns are 9 inches tall), looks like a devil deer. I stop and gravel sprays like I'm ridding a bigwheel. I look up at this monster and he looks up at me. I kinda think I can scare him out of my way so I bring my head down and charge him, and he doesn't even move, he tilts his horns toward me and I just run back to my house, the deer won that battle. They conference organizers setup a twitter feed for people to post as the conference went on (this sessions is good-seats available, this speaker is boring-leaving, check out this restaurant tonight, etc). It was great, and it is like a running feed of comments. All comments are short, and you only get comments from people that you accept to your list. If you know a part of NC that has good skating, let me know! I've lived here all my life. Good skating? Not where I live. I'm in Wilmington....very few skaters here. We have one skatepark that bums everyone out because they charge a high price for an hour of skating, not to mention if you're underage, your PARENTS have to go with you and sign a waiver stating that they will not sue the skatepark if anything happens to the kid while he/she is skating. </p> <p>We also have the Eastern Skateboard Supply Warehouse where the "REAL" team skate jam came a month ago and did a demo to raise money for autism. But that warehouse is private. You have to either be a pro skater or know one personally, or get special permission to skate in that warehouse. I do hope that in the future, more and more skaters will come "out of the woodwork" and some more skate parks and sites will develop. That would be cool. </p> <p>I heard that the outer banks of NC has a pretty good skate area, but that's it so far. And it's nowhere near the Air Force base. </p> <p>As of right now, NC is better known as BMX country (Ryan Nyquist and Dave Mirra live in NC)</p> <p>Sorry if that put a damper on the moving plans. But how about this? Baltimore, Maryland. That is home to Bucky Lasek. America still morns.I remember where I was and what I was doing at the exact moment the plane hit tower one, it's etched in my mind a moment things stopped, the world stopped, when we all saw pure evil. weather we were in NY or 4,000 miles away we felt for those people in the plane and in the buildings.I was about to have a family day at the local fair. Walking around in a quite surreal atmospher in place that is normally full of laughing carnival noises and fun, became a tomb of worry, fear, and reverence. I lived in Seattle(ie: JETCITY) and always saw jets fly and plane noise,.... all was quite on that day. the Skys were empty. the next day I had to goto work, I worked in a fancy hotel, it had a lot of traveler's who were trying to get back to New York but were stranded. One guest I had was a women, who was in tear's and I asked her what was wrong, half knowing what I'd hear. She said she just found out she lost her son in tower two, I didn't know her but I felt her grieving, I placed my arm around her and she hugged me so hard, with tears in her eyes and tears in mine, I asked if I could pray for her and her family,she said yes that would be nice. Really the only thing I could offer, so I prayed and God gave me the words. When times are hard and there is NO hope,... God gives us hope, and we can give it away as a gift to people in need. I don't know if God used me to changed her life as that bellman who opened up his faith to a stranger on a horrible day in America, I would like to think so..... I know as I write this blog tears roll down my cheek knowing God used me and I was there for a lady who lost her son, a lady who needed someone to hug Her, someone who could love her in a place where no one knew her.God gave me a gift to share, and I did. Be availible to His will, He will call you to do things that aren't so easy.
